Sunday, September 30, 2007--Today, I played Soul Nomad for about 5 more hours. *Soul Nomad*Returning to Raide from the west, we discovered that the Grand Cordon of Raide had investigated the king and found him to be untrustworthy, so he sparked a rebellion in the kingdom of Raide. Seeing our chance, my characters and the Nereids decided to go for the World Eater, but first we had to fight through some of Raide's retainers. Then, before encountering World Eater Feinne herself (for the second time), the King of Raide showed up, intending to use the Crimson Tear to merge with Feinne, but he failed, then got eaten, and then Feinne destroyed Raide. So my party had to fight Feinne, but since Feinne is at level 1000, she kicked our asses. So Gig lent me his power, and I pulmogorized Feinne.

Shocker! Feinne is actual Resilience, a god from Gig's former life (as a god called Vigilance)!

Unfortunately, it seems that Gig gave me too much power and seemed to disappear afterwards, so we returned to the hidden village to consult Lady Layna. She informed us that Gig was still alive, just sleeping because he had exhausted too much energy. She also suggested that we go south to Orviska to track down another World Eater, but then Thuris' followers attacked and destroyed the village.

After defeating the Thurists, Layna and the villages moved in with the Raide refugees and the Nereids, and we decided to head south to Orviska to track down the last, currently unknown World Eater. We ran into Dio again, but his followers had deserted him, so he joined our party... as Odie, because Dio is not his true name. Eventually, we found a city and we ran into an archer named Tricia, who was an acquaintance of Grunzford. After some battling with the gypsy Shauna (who we captured), Tricia joined my party. Nifty.
*Soul Nomad*

On this day:
In 2002:

Saturday, September 29, 2007--Today, I played Soul Nomad for another 5 hours. *Soul Nomad*So the meeting with the Grand Cordon of the Knights of Raide gets interrupted because Dio (?) wanted to challenge me to another battle. I kicked his ass, then we introduced Grand Cordon Thorndyke to his son, and now he's considering an alliance with us and the Nereids. Oh, and Juno and a few Nereids joined my party.

Since we don't want to upset the Grand Cordon by attacking Feinne (plus, she's way too powerful), we decided to head west, to the desert, to find another World Eater. So we come across a city where everyone is worshipping this god called Thuris, and suddenly, Gig wants to stick around. It turns out Thuris is a World Eater, and after a long battle, I took him down. But he escaped...

Then, Grunzford joined my party. Although he would have been more useful for the fight against Thuris.
*Soul Nomad*

On this day:
In 2006: I meet Brian, who reveals to me the existence of Tuesday Night Magic at Microsoft.
In 2002:

Then, I went to a party at Jonathan's place. Apparently, Andrew (aka, Epee Dood) also plays Soul Nomad and Disgaea and the like. Neat.
Friday, September 28, 2007 - Addendum--So I did something really stupid today. On my way out of my apartment, I accidentally shut the door on my finger, and it started to bleed profusely. Fortunately, I has a bandaid.

I just changed the bandaid just now. It was so bloodsoaked that the blood started to seep through to the other side. Not very pretty.

So the moral of the story is: Beware of doors!
Friday, September 28, 2007--Happy Birthday, Hedgehog!

After work today, I played some more Soul Nomad for about 3 more hours. *Soul Nomad*So I entered Raide and ended up fighting Dio a second time. He was tougher than the first time, but I had a better team this time around. Then, we discovered that the Grand Cordon of Raide had bought a Crimson Tear. Apparently, he wants to capture the soul of World Eater Feinne. So I went to the Nereids and forged an alliance with them.*Soul Nomad*

On this day:
In 2004: I win 2 tickets to the ASUC dance in a chubby bunny contest.

Thursday, September 27, 2007--Happy Sweet Sixteen, Conifer H!

On this day:
In 2003: Cal pwns U$C! w00t!

Wednesday, September 26, 2007--Soul Nomad came out today. I left work a bit early so I could go to GameStop and get it. I ended up playing it for a little over 6 hours. *Soul Nomad*So first I went to the city of Astec and picked up Levin and Vitali for my party. Then, I met up with Endorph, and now I'm about to invade Raide.*Soul Nomad*
Sunday, September 23, 2007--Today, I played some Oblivion. *Oblivion*I finished the Fighter's Guild plotline today. There was something about a hallucinogenic tree that I needed to destroy, so I destroyed it, and now I'm the guildmaster of the Fighter's Guild. Next time, I'm gonna finish the main quest.*Oblivion*
Saturday, September 22, 2007--Happy Birthday Mom!

A few days ago (I don't remember exactly when), I caught the movie Uptown Girls on TV, which makes that the first Dakota Fanning movie I've ever seen. Then, today, I caught parts of Hide and Seek on TV (another Dakota Fanning movie). Heh.
Friday, September 21, 2007--Happy Birthday to Feng and Bonnie!

On this day:
In 2003: I beat FFTactics.

So today was Feng and Bonnie's birthday dinner at Coho's.

(Short aside, apparently, Live Maps' directions were much better than Google's, in the sense that they were much simpler.)

Apparently, Bonnie didn't include me in the original invite to the bday dinner party. Feng had to forward it to me specially. So when I arrived at Coho's, apparently, Bonnie hadn't reserved a seat for me. Fortunately, Robert (who I later found out was Robert Liao from HKN at Berkeley) hadn't arrived, so I stole his seat. (Clearly, Bonnie doesn't like me.)

Fortunately, when Robert arrived, they just pulled up a chair for him and gave him his food super-fast. Yeah, I dunno how that happened either. Maybe it was a setup?

So Feng decides to take a pictur of Bonnie, but Bonnie's supposed boyfiend slips out of the camera's line of sight.
Bonnie: Kevin!
me: That's grounds for a stabbin'. *hands Bonnie a knife*
Wednesday, September 19, 2007--Today, at a morale event, I saw the movie Hot Fuzz. It's an amusing movie. I recommend it if you like British humor or cop movie spoofs. (Which is exactly what it is--a British-made cop movie spoof.)
Tuesday, September 18, 2007--On a whim (and because my coin flip said so), I decided to go to Tuesday Night Games, which included such interesting personalities such as Panda Bear and Epee Dood.

"Hey, whatever happened to that Asian girl and that other Asian girl?"

Monday, September 17, 2007--Happy Birthday, Lil Bro!

On this day:
In 2003: I meet Tracy Wang... except I thought her name was "Chelsea" instead. Hehe... oops!

Sunday, September 16, 2007--I played lots of Oblivion today. *Oblivion*Funny story. So my char had level 48 in her Armorer skill (almost at level 49), and I wanted to get it to level 50 so I can get the next skill perk and repair magic armor. But in order to get my Armorer skill up, I need to have damaged armor that I can repair. Fortunately, there's a spell that damages armor. Unfortunately, my char doesn't have enough Destruction skill. Not only that, but Destruction skill can only be trained by hitting something with it. So I make a Fireball skill that hits yourself and had my char hit herself over and over and over again to train up her Destruction skill, then create a spell to damage my own armor and had my char damage her armor, then repair it, over and over again. It was amusing.*Oblivion*

On this day:
In 2003: I "met" Melody Hsu.

Saturday, September 15, 2007--Happy Birthday, ZaNat!

On this day:
In 2006: MichCh makes his first appearance on my bloop.
In 2004: Little Vivian IMs me on AIM for the first time ever.

Speaking of Little Vivian, I decided to call her on my cell phone. We ended up talking for over 30 minutes. That's, like, a personal record in all time longest phone call or something. (I don't talk on the phone very much.)

Therefore, Little Vivian is awesome! (=
Friday, September 14, 2007--After work today, I went to Crossroad's Mall to play a Time Spiral Block Tournament. Unfortunately, I was the only person signed up for it, so it got cancelled while everyone else wanted to play draft. I guess no one likes Time Spiral Block anymore. Maybe it's because I keep winning with Slivers? I dunno.
Tuesday, September 11, 2007--Happy September 11!

Or I guess, Sad September 11.

Anyway, after work today, I went to an MtG draft with the guys in the cafeteria. I started trying to draft a mono-white weenie deck, but someone else was in white, so I grabbed green and ended up playing a green-white deck. (Maybe I shoulda gone blue instead, but I don't particularly like drafting blue.) Anyways, I played three people and lost to two of them.

Here is my decklist:
8xForest
8xPlains
New Benalia
Uktabi Drake
Ashcoat Bears
Pendelhaven Elder
Mire Boa
Edge of Autumn
Wrap in Vigor
Evolution Charm
Sprout Swarm

Detainment Spell

Fortify
Saltskitter
Malach of the Dawn
Lucent Liminid

Assembly Worker
Monday, September 10, 2007--Today, after work, I made my triumphant return to the Pro Club gym. Hurray?

On this day:
In 2006: I beat Disgaea 2 in a mere 11 days.

Sunday, September 9, 2007--Happy Birthday, Conifer Rawnshen Chu!

Heh, Connie talks to me now. Apparently, she also has a boyfiend, too.

Also, Oblivion. Hmm... maybe I play that game too much. I should cut down on my obliviating.
Saturday, September 8, 2007--I played some Oblivion.

Then, I went to Jonathan's housewarming party (even though he's lived in his apartment for about 4 months already).
Friday, September 7, 2007--I went to work. Then, Oblivion.
Thursday, September 6, 2007--Microsoft Company Meeting!

And then, more Oblivion.
Wednesday, September 5, 2007--After work, I played more Oblivion.
Tuesday, September 4, 2007--After work, I decided to play Oblivion. However, I felt that Francesco's mod was making enemy levels rather higher than I liked. Not only that, there are still some things that level up with you (like monsters on the world map and the daedra that pop out of Oblivion gates), so I decided to turn of Francesco's mod.

In order to prevent the game from pulling an FF8 on me, I turned down the difficulty slider just a bit. I also tweaked the Balor-Vehem levelling mod so that stats grow at half the speed (because in the original Balor-Vehem mod, my char's stats were growing way too fast, and my char's skills were still in their 60s). Finally, I bumped the stats per level from 8 to 10, just to make sure I maintain statistical advantage.

Just for fun, I also downloaded one of them companion mods. (No, not the skanky ranger.) And then, as a purely cosmetic effect, I downloaded a mod that makes female armor, uh, look like it doesn't protect as much.

Now, if only there were an invisible helm mod, so I could get a hair mod.
Monday, September 3, 2007--Happy Labor Day!

Today, I played more Disgaea. I got to the boss of chapter 10 (Mid-Boss) who kicked my ass. So I did a bit of powerlevelling.

Then, I decided to play Oblivion instead.
Sunday, September 2, 2007--Today, I played some more Disgaea (the 20 stronger enemies bills playthrough), finished farming my Statisticians, and then cleared Chapter 9. Then, I cleared two levels of Chapter 10 (which were pretty easy).

On this day:
In 2003: Abhishek Mishra makes his first appearance in my online journal.

Saturday, September 1, 2007--Today was the start of the 2007 Cal Football season. We kicked Tennessee's ass so badly...
