Monday, September 30, 2002--You know, I've forgotten how fun it is to make and maintain a website...
Oh, how nice! Today's the first school day you have with me. Well, I guess that means I have to tell you what my school is like, don't I? Don't worry. After today, I'll never do it again, except by request.
Well, first of all, I drive to school, ever since the beginning of this year. Driving's fun.
Anyways, my first period (on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays) begins at 7:30, so I had to get up early and go to school early. I take Math 73 first period, which is really high-level college math. *yawn* Boring class. We get nothing but lectures there, and we barely get any homework. How am I supposed to feel motivated to learn the material?
2nd period is Electronic Music. Basically, this means I get to slack off and play with music keyboards for almost an hour. Fun class, but only if you're really into music, like me.
3rd period is government. In any case, today was the great Philosopher Debate, and I was John Locke. My friend Andrew was Thomas Hobbes. Somehow, I ended up calling him Lobbes. That's not good. In any case, apparently, while I was up there, I panicked, my mind blanked out, and I screwed up really badly. Lesson learned: Don't go up to do a presentation without your notes. Lucky for me, someone asked Hobbes a question about his form of Government, and he replied something like, "Well, it doesn't really work all that well. That probably means my philosophy is flawed." And I replied, "I think you just lost."
4th period is Chemistry AP. Because one of my lab partners screwed up really badly measuring the mass of a piece of filter paper, I needed to do some extra work. Even still, we found that a dime is 117.4% Silver. That's just not right.
At lunch, I found out that I need to apologize to Claire again. I blame it on Alan Watson. Also at lunch, I gave some advice about US History AP to my "friend" "Cynth." I think she listened, or at least gave the appearance she was listening, which is ALMOST as good. Justin wanted me to look over is National Merit Scholar Semi-finalist Essay. I swear to God, that essay makes him sound like an Un-American.
5th period is my TA period. I TA for Mr. Peterson, the Music Teacher. It really pains me to give bad scores to all the poor students, but, hey, I gotta be faithful to the answer key. They'll never learn unless I take away points for wrong answers.
6th period is my English AP class. Today, we were supposed to prepare a presentation about our assigned scene in
A Streetcar Named Desire. You know, the real thing is NOTHING like the one they performed in the Simpsons. The only similarities are the names, the broken bottle scene, and "STELL-AAAAAAAAHHH!!!"
Just by coincidence, today is also the first time I go to my
San Jose Youth Symphony rehearsal. If you've read my Bio, you'd know that I play for them. I play the Viola. I usually sit 3rd seat or 5th seat, depending on whether or not certain people are absent or not.
snip, snip--has been cut out due to chaos and confusion.
Playing Liszt's
Les Preludes is fun...
In any case, I came home and worked on my website. Then, I typed this one last sentence and said, "Good night!"
Sunday, September 29, 2002--Welcome to my Online Journal! Alan Watson had an Online Journal (apparently, he detests my calling it a "diary"). Why can't I have an Online Journal? Hey, lots of other people have Online Journals, too, you know! Some call them weblogs (aka, "blog"). In any case, this is my first entry ever...
So... today, I revised my National Merit Scholar Semi-finalist Essay. It turned out okay in the end, I hope. I also started working on my UC Application, and then, I started this website. Hmm... That's pretty much all I did today. I hope Chem homework isn't due tomorrow, but I'm sure I finish Chem homework during 73. Hmm... That's all. Good night. Don't let the succubi bite.
