Wednesday, May 31, 2006--I finished The Da Vinci Code today. It was okay. There are only two points I'd like to bring up.

First, you know how some people say The Da Vinci Code is anti-religious? It's not anti-religious at all. Not by a long shot. Now, Dark Fiends is anti-religious. The Da Vinci Code is just a conspiracy theory that's caused a bit of controversy than the church. Hell, even Final Fantasy is more anti-religious than The Da Vinci Code.

Second, Brown got some details wrong about The Age of Pisces and The Age of Aquarius. He was off by about 500 years. Then again, it was mostly used as symbolism, and Brown probably used a few creative liberties to make everything fit together, so...

Also, the official results for NATCAR 2006 are up. Apparently, my car won 2nd place. Wow, we totally overestimated the competition. The only car we couldn't beat was Rick Mann and his god car.

Dice Roll of the Day: (5, 2) Total: 7

Other than that, I did a little bit of work on the Demons Engine Architecture 3. It's a bit harder now that I'm trying to do things correctly. And high-performance. It's been a while since I've written serious code.

Good Night!
Tuesday, May 30, 2006--Today, I played a lot of Disgaea and that's about it.

On this day:

Monday, May 29, 2006--Happy Memorial Day! This is the day we memorialize people for their good deeds. Or something. It's also the day where people get days off from school and work have BBQs in their backyard.

Today, I went to a Tau Beta Pi party at Eric's place, 'cause for some reason, Mike C decided to bring Tau Beta Pi to the south bay. Yay!

First, we had a BBQ in a BBQ place somewhere or other.

Then, we watched X-Men 3. It sucked. The storyline was lame and there were no kickass scenes, unlike X-Men 2, which had Magneto breaking out of prison. Now that was a kickass awesome scene.

Good Night!
Sunday, May 28, 2006--Today, I worked some more on Dark Fiends. Expect the next one to be up, oh, during the second half of June.

Also, I went to Kellie's place where I played the original Katamari and Bomberman.

Wednesday, May 24, 2006--Man, Disgaea is such an amusing game. It's so amusing, I just have to post some spoilers (in spoiler text, of course).

*dis*So I'm on Chapter 6. Laharl sends a public challenge to the residents of the underworld saying that he'll travel to the Heart of Evil. Anyone who can defeat him on his way there will become the new Overlord. If he makes it to the Heart of Evil, he becomes Overlord for good.

The first thing I noticed was that all my level 300+ vassals were gone.

First battle, I had to fight a map that was chock full of monsters. It was so full, there wasn't any room to walk.

Third battle...
Prinny: Dood, we challenge you to a baseball game.
Laharl: Okay. *picks up a prinny and throws him at another one*
Prinnies: *explode*

Fourth battle, some uber-demon shows up and kicks my ass, but then, my level 300+ vassals show up and kick the uber-demon's ass.

Fifth battle, Power Rangers! I kid you not. I had to fight the Power Rangers.

Sixth battle, Mid-Boss kicks my ass, as he tends to do. Back to the drawing board.
*dis*

Yeah, Disgaea is hilarious.

On this day:

Monday, May 22, 2006--I got better, so I started playing Disgaea today. Dood, it's such an awesome game. It's also proof that games don't have to be taken seriously to be good. 'Cause, yeah, Disgaea's not a serious game.

Also, Disgaea arrived today. I ordered it on Wednesday, and it arrived today. Damn, that was super-fast for an eBay purchase. But since I was sick, I didn't have any time or energy to play it.

I tried the new AIM Triton. It sucked. Seriously, if AOL expects a new line of AIM Clients to become popular, the last thing they should do is remove some key features, like So yeah. I ditched Triton and went back to classic AIM. 'Cause Triton is a separate program from classic AIM, so I had both installed on my machine at one point. I'm gonna post a thread and a poll in the forums to see what other people think.

Good Night!
Wednesday, May 17, 2006--Today is (as far as schoolwork goes) my last day of college. I have 2 finals today, and then I'm done.

On this day:
In 2003:
At 8am in the morning was my CS186 (databases) final. I already knew that it was likely that I would be late. However, I had reasoned that my grade in the class was so high that I could half-ass the final and still get an A in the class. Besides, I'd prolly finish early anyway. So I end up showing up half an hour late, and the test is longer than I expected--I had to stay until pretty much the end just to finish it. It was still easy, though.

During my break, I just sat around and called Vivian.

Then, at 5pm, I had my second (and last) final: CS164 (compilers). It was easy. I finished in just 2 hours (we were given 3), and handed my test to the Prof. So Prof Necula asks me to wait 'cause he wants to look over my test. After about a minute, he tells me, "There are mistakes on your test. Would you like to stay a while longer and correct them." I respond, "Well, you've already looked it over, so it wouldn't be fair. Besides, I just want to get this over with." Well, clearly, I'm not getting a perfect score on the final, but it doesn't matter. I'm guaranteed an A in the class anyway.

So yeah. I am now done with college (as far as schoolwork is concerned). There's still Graduation/Commencement (formalities) and actually receiving my Diploma and Degree (bureaucracy), but as of this moment, I am officially no longer an undergrad at Berkeley.

Afterwards, I decided it would be best to finish off my meal plan points, since this would be my last meal here at Berkeley. I had about 26 points. So I went to the Late Nite Grille and bought $18 worth of food. I couldn't finish it, though (although I got pretty far), so I donated the rest to Faith.

Dice Roll of the Day: (1, 3) Total: 4

Good Riddance!
Tuesday, May 16, 2006--I spent most of today reviewing for CS164 and CS186, and by reviewing, I actually mean that I read the lecture slides I hadn't read before (because I missed some lectures) and made my notesheets for the Finals tomorrow.

I did remember to leave some time to slack off, though.

Dice Roll of the Day: (2, 3) Total: 5

Good Luck on the Finals tomorrow!
Monday, May 15, 2006--I went to go work on the car some more, but I was feeling lethargic, so I didn't do any actual work. Today will be my last day in lab. Hopefully, Wayne and Slava can get the thing in good shape in time for NATCAR. We're already down to 38 seconds. It isn't much further now.

On this day:
In 2005: Mushroom men!
In 2004: In FF9, I change Zidane's name to Dwayne.
Dwayne (Zidane in FF9): I'm always thinking about girls!
Dwayne (me in real life): Wow, that's pretty accurate.

Dice Roll of the Day: (1, 6) Total: 7

Time to say Good Night!
Sunday, May 14, 2006--More EE192 car... Things are working well again, but our car still has trouble doing the little waves near the Moore Room (hey, that's a palindrome). Slava theorizes that we need to mount the sensors further in front of the car and says he'll test the theory tomorrow after he makes a longer boom.

On this day:
In 2004: I run into Lily N at Berkeley.

Tonight was also the final episode of Malcolm in the Middle. It was a pretty good episode. Too bad I missed part of it when I went to do the laundry.

Dice Roll of the Day: (5, 3) Total: 8

The End! Good Night!
Saturday, May 13, 2006--The day began with work on the EE192 car. We alleviated the power failure problems by soldering on some more capacitors to hold the voltage steady. Then, we started running into sporadic sensor failure problems. After a few hours of testing stuff, I noticed that whenever I pushed on a while, it would automatically fix itself. This led me to believe that we had loose wires. A little while later, I found some honest-to-goodness loose wires and resoldered them. I think (I hope) that solved our problems.

On this day:
In 2003:
Funny. I'm still going after Freshgirls today. I think last year is the only year in a long time that I wasn't going after Freshgirls.

Dice Roll of the Day: (2, 3) Total: 5

Good Day--I mean--Good Night!
Friday, May 12, 2006--EE192 Final... It was only slightly harder than the practice final, but only because there was some material in the actual final that I didn't expect. I didn't seem to have too much problem with it, though.

After the final, we went to go look at our car, mainly 'cause Slava and Wayne wanted to see firsthand the improvement I had made on Wednesday. It was pretty awesome, but then we started getting random power failures. Since we were tired from the final, we decided we would fix it some other day.

On this day:
In 2005: In 2004: Daisy again

Also, I bought a Dissension Fat Pack, which contains Interesting cards in my boosters include: 2 Voidslimes (1 foil, 1 regular), a foil Sandstorm Eidolon, Supply & Demand, Infernal Tutor, Cytoplast Root-Kin, Bronze Bombshell, and Unliving Psychopath. (Hmm... why are half my rares the same as the rares I won at the pre-release?)

Dice Roll of the Day: (4, 6) Total: 10

Good Night, peeps!
Thursday, May 11, 2006--Today, I stayed home so that I could "study" for EE192, and by study, I actually meant review my notes. It's funny. I spent 4 hours in my own room reviewing and 2 hours in the Tau Beta Pi study room (in the Woz), and then did a practice final, only to find out that it wasn't hard at all. That's good enough for me. I'll go slack off now. Good Night!

Wednesday, May 10, 2006--Today was the Tau Beta Pi New/Old Officer Mixer, which is kinda funny, because there was a New/Old Officer Mixer exactly a year ago today. Speaking of which...

Also, apparently, some sodas were "accidentally" frozen, and when I tried to open one, it exploded on me. Yeah, pretty nasty stuff.

I also worked on the car today. We were having some really, really bad stability issues. Then, as everyone else was leaving, I decided to stick around for a few minutes to implement (L-R)/C sensor fusion "on a hunch", and not only did it work, but it made the car run better than the car had ever run before... ever. Our time went down from 58 seconds during Round 2 to 38 seconds. So yeah.

I dunno if I've told you the story before, but Wayne says he can't make it to NATCAR, but Slava really wants to go. I don't really want to go to NATCAR, but we made a compromise that if we could get our car to run the Silver Track in less than 40 seconds, we would go to NATCAR.

And just today, our car finished the Silver Track in less than 40 seconds (38 seconds to be more precise). So yeah. I'm going to NATCAR now. w00t?

Dice Roll of the Day: (6, 1) Total: 7

Good Night, my people!
Tuesday, May 9, 2006--Last Day of Class! w00t!

I didn't wake up in time for the last CS186 Lecture, but I did go to the last CS164 Lecture. There was a guest speaker from Intel, telling us about the new Itanium Architecture and how it affects compiler writers (mostly in terms of optimization, which is pretty much the only interesting thing in compilers today).

Last EE192 Lecture, during which the guys from the new DARPA Challenge team at Berkeley came to recruit some new blood. Then, we had a "review", which was basically going over Quiz #3.

Then, we worked on the car some more.

Dice Roll of the Day: (1, 3) Total: 4

Good Night!
Monday, May 8, 2006--I made my triumphant return to UC Berkeley... and worked on the EE192 car. We implemented a Cylon Crossing Detector. Unfortunately, whether we had the car hold the last remembered value or whether we have it just go straight, it always has problems at one crossing or another.

On this day:
In 2004: Daisy: Do you like me?
In 2003: Stephanie Y and her eyepatch.

Sunday, May 7, 2006--Dice Roll of the Day: (6, 5) Total: 11

More tutoring Franklin for AP Physics C.

Good Night!
Saturday, May 6, 2006--Tau Beta Pi Officer Elections... it was the longest TBP Officer elections ever! Normally, they end at about 2. This time, I left at 3, and they were still going. Fortunately, Jessica got elected to Historian and Lei got elected to Indrel before I left. Although those two are quite a bit of work. Good luck to them!

Yui: I nominate myself. I'm Yui.
Eric: Okay. How do you spell that?
Paul: N-U-T-T-A-...

On this day:
In 2005:
Vikram: Dwayne, are you going to Karaoke later?
Me: It depends on who else is going.
Vincent: That means how many girls are going.

In 2004: The whole Troy and Superb incident. I being holding a grudge against Superb.
In 2003:
So then, I got shipped home so that I could help Frankie study for his AP Physics C (Mechanics) Test.

Dice Roll of the Day: (3, 5) Total: 8

Okay, bye! Good Night! See you all next time!
Friday, May 5, 2006--Crap, I totally forgot it was Kyang's birthday today. Oh well, Happy Birthday anyway!

Today was the Tau Beta Pi Initiation. To help set up, Alex H and Mike C held a Donuts & Bagels [sic]. However, (1) the pins weren't there yet, and (2) they didn't want to thread the ribbons through the bents this year, so I didn't get to do any threading of ribbons through bents. I did tell some girls to wear ribbons in their hair, though, although none of them actually did. Lamed.

So then the TBP Candidates initiated. Yay! Then, we had Banquet at the Franciscan, where they had salmon and prime rib. Mmm... prime rib... I wonder what makes it prime.

Then, we decided to go to the Karaoke after party, which was at Foothill. Lei wanted to call up Viv Chu and invite her to crash the TBP Karaoke party, but Viv Chu had to get some sleep for her Tae Kwon Do test or something. That girl's got skills. Archery and Tae Kwon Do. She can take you down from far away and from up close.

Anyways, we ended up singing random songs on Mike C's Chinese Karaoke machine, which had some small percentage of English songs.

Dice Roll of the Day: (1, 3) Total: 4

Hmm... *shrig* Good Night!
Thursday, May 4, 2006--No memories. Why do I keep having epochs of weeks at a time where I don't update my Bloop? The world may never know.

On this day:
In 2005: Viv Chu makes it into Berkeley EECS.
In 2003: I pay too much attention to Joanna and not enough to Stephanie.

Today was the Microsoft Future Employee dinner, which was at Cafe Venezia, or something like that. I ordered the Spaghetti with Meatballs. They only gave me two meatballs, but these meatballs were fucking huge. They were, like, the size of baseballs. I ate both of the meatballs, and suddenly, I was full. I couldn't finish the spaghetti. Yeah, really big balls.

Dice Roll of the Day: (3, 1) Total: 4

Good Night...?
Wednesday, May 3, 2006--Normally, I'd have CS186 Discussion and EE192 Discussion, but CS186 Discussion is useless and EE192 Discussion is over, so I have no class today! Yay!

I spent the rest of the day slacking off, updating my Visual C++, and writing code to generate a LookUp Table for my EE192 car.

Dice Roll of the Day: (1, 3) Total: 4

Good Night!
Tuesday, May 2, 2006--Happy Birthday, Faith!

CS186 Lecture... is so frickin' boring. But at least Homework 5 will be optional.

CS164 Lecture... is so frickin' awesome.

EE192 Lecture... we finished our Oral Presentation, so grade wise, I'm done for the year. Well, there are still finals, so...

Tau Beta Pi Potluck... We read and ranked the Candidate essays. Apparently, the consensus was that Richard's essay was the best ("Patricia is very cute."), but it wasn't appropriate to read at the Banquet, so we voted on 3 others. Meanwhile, Patricia was embarassed to death.

Dice Roll of the Day: (5, 3) Total: 8

The Night is Good!
Monday, May 1, 2006--So last night, I started on my CS164 project. Apparently, it was so easy that I finished all the development work right there and then. Then, today, I just finished all the testing. So, yeah. After weeks of missing deadlines, I'm suddenly 2 days ahead of deadline. Kinda sad, isn't it?

On this day:
In 2003: "Existence does not exist outside of the universe."

Other things I did today: picked up my graduation tickets, rented my graduation cap & gown, bought Oreos at the Bear Market. Mmm... Oreos...

Dice Roll of the Day: (2, 4) Total: 6

All's well that ends Good Night!
