November 2003

First | Previous | Next | Current

Sunday, November 30, 2003--I got a haircut today. Eh... it's no big deal, except that I'll look really different for a while, since my hair has suddenly become short again.

Also, while at home, I was trying to do my homework, but instead I played some Diablo II. I'm such a bad slacker.

As a result, after I got back to Berkeley, I spent late into the night working on Physics Homework. )=

And that was why I was too busy to update on Sunday. Good Night!
Saturday, November 29, 2003--Hmm... We went to Kellie's place last year on Thanksgiving, too...

Anyways, so yeah, we went to Kellie's place today for a post-Thanksgiving Eat-a-Thon. I did mostly... not much. We played some Ping Pong, and I sucked as we usually do. Kellie and I got into a poking war.

I also watched the Big Iron Giant, which was pretty good for a kid's animated movie.

Bleh... short day and short entry today... although that's not necessarily a bad thing. Less for you to read, right?

Anyways, it's getting late, and I'm getting tired. Goo-oo-ood Night!
Friday, November 28, 2003 - Addendum--Last night, I had a dream. Basically, there was this house, so I knocked on the door, and Kim opened the door, then closed it again before I could enter. Then, someone else opened the door for me, and I find Kim sitting on the stairs, pretty much ignoring me. Since she refused to talk to me, I sit down next to her and ask her, "Kim, what's wrong? Kim, why won't you talk to me? Kim, please." Except that in my dream, her name was "Maera". Yes, as in "Kimaera". I don't know why.

At first, I thought this dream was a bad omen, but then I talked to Kim about it over AIM, and she really seemed to care (or at least she acted like she did...), and she ended with the following lines:
[Kim]: i'm going to go now. i have to finish up some stuff.
[Kim]: i'll talk to you later
[Kim]: really. i will...=)

That was really good to hear...

Anyways, Good Night. Sweet dreams!
Friday, November 28, 2003--Today, I was really sick with a bad cold, so I stayed in bed the whole morning. However, later in the afternoon, I did my Math Homework, played FFTactics (beating Elidibs and beating the game with my uber-powerful characters), played NFL Blitz (and barely beat Franklin... oh, and Jeffrey and I beat Franklin and Katty yesterday at NFL Blitz), played Goldeneye (Franklin won the License to Kill pistol duels), and Hardcore Ladder Diablo II. I'm working on a better Barbarian right now.

Long day, short entry. (I've said this before. Bonus points to whoever can tell me when). Good Night!
Thursday, November 27, 2003--Happy Thanksgiving, y'all!

Anyways, today I woke up with a sore throat. Then, I went and played the piano a bunch before I went to Jasmine's place for a Thanksgiving party (as we've been doing for the last three years). Justin Kuo couldn't make it this time (stuck at UCLA), but Elaine Kuo made it instead. Justin's response: "DAMN!" I tried to stay out of Elaine's sight, knowing how much she hates me.

After dinner, we watched X-Men 2, which kinda sucked, since they mess up so many X-Men storylines like Lady Deathstrike and Phoenix. Well, at least there were lots of references, three of which I caught. Beast, Gambit, and Shadowcat appear in this movie in some way shape or form. Heh.

Then, the girls started singing karaoke and the guys started playing video games (except Katty, who played video games... it's surprising how the Katherine Pan of today is so different from the Katherine Pan that we knew in GEC...). Jasmine sang A Whole New World from Aladdin. Don't you just find the naming interesting?

Jasmine: "We should have a duet with 5 people!"

Then, when they started singing chinese songs, Jasmine was like "Who's a FOB? Me!" and "Come on, let out your inner FOB!"

Elaine's brother thinks Elaine is crazy. I am inclined to believe, although she is kinda cute... or at least she used to be.

Anyways, those were the highlights of the day... they kind of... sucked, yes.

No flirting with Deanne.

Anyways, Good Night!
Wednesday, November 26, 2003--Uhh... I don't have an opener today.

A Year Ago Today: "If you had to be assassinated, who would you want to be assassinated by and why?"

I almost forgot. Kim went home last night. She had on her AIM profile, "Should I go home today or tomorrow?" I wanted to IM her saying, "You should go home tomorrow so I can see you today." But I never had the chance. )=

No early morning Physics Discussion today, since our GSI went on vacation, so I slept in. Then, after waking up, I started catching up on my homework.

Lunch at the Crossroads...

CS61A Lecture... there, I got Tracy's AIM SN. Whee! Heh, she's actually older than me considering how young she looks. Heh.

Math 54 Discussion... barely anyone showed. Ben offered to tell us about the Math 54 version of Fourier Series.

Then, I went home... WOOT!

And played a bunch of Diablo II. Justin rushed me all the way to hell difficulty.

Anyways, I went to sleep hella late today. Good Nighty!
Tuesday, November 25, 2003--Happy Birthday Jasmine!!!

A Year Ago Today: I also show up really really late to early morning Physics 7B Lecture, but I didn't miss much. Luk was gone. Smoot was lecturing. I like Luk's lectures better.

Lunchfast at the Golden Bear, plus stocking up on Nutri-Grain bars.

Math 54 Lecture...

EE20N Lecture... when should I tell Melo?

Reading Greek speeches is boring...

Greek Literature...

Dinner without Joyce, since Joyce is going home today, much like half to the school within driving range of home.

CS61A Discussion... Tyler gave us good strategies for the project. That's true, though, if your AI doesn't have any memory, it doesn't matter if the environment changes.

Spent the night doing CS Homework. It was good. Good Night!
Monday, November 24, 2003--I can feel the holiday slacking approaching. No!!! I'm a good student.

A Year Ago Today: "Bart has his 'El Barto', why can't I be 'El Homo'?" (New Simpsons Episode)

Anyways, I was hella late to early morning Physics 7B Discussion. Oh, well.

It being Thanksgiving week and I needed to waste my meals, I ate a second breakfast at the Golden Bear. Mmm... sunny-side up eggs.

EE20N Discussion... I was kinda late.

CS61A Lecture...

Math 54 Discussion, we had our quiz today since people wanted to skip Wednesday, so we needed to have the quiz today.

After that was me doing... lots of... homework... yeah...

Dinner at the Crossroads...

Fencing... is fun... Today, we did more practice with option drills. I do something, you respond, and I counter-respond. Heh...

Ah, I remember now, I played lots of Diablo II yesterday when I shouldn't have, because I slack off too much.

Today, I stayed up late slacking off.

Good Night!
Sunday, November 23, 2003--Man, I'm hella behind in journal entries.

A Year Ago Today: The SJYS concert... apparently, SJYS concerts are highly regular, too. We had one just yesterday!

"You can look at the schedule for the next three years by looking at this year's schedule."
--Me to Mr. Ho

Anyways, after attempting to do homework, I headed back to Berkeley, where I ate dinner at the Crossroads and stayed awake for quite a long time finishing homework.

Sorry if this is really sketchy. My memory is really sketchy, as this entry is almost a week late.

Anyways, Good Night!
Satuday, November 22, 2003--I slept in a lot this Saturday morning at home.

A Year Ago Today: Nadia plays with Justin's perverted calculator game, after saying how perverted it is.

Anyways, after lunch at KFC, I went to the SJYS concert (by literail, literally) and bought a front row ticket so I could have a good view of Lizzie. She saw me, too, or so she made it clear when I went to visit her backstage during intermission. We talked for a while. I couldn't bring myself to talk to Emma, so I just smiled.

Me: *talks to Lizzie*
Lizzie: *responds*
Girl: Excuse me, can I borrow Lizzie for a while?
Me: Um, okay.

As if she actually had to ask me.

It was good to see Lizzie again.

It was a pretty good concert. They played Smetana today. I played Smetana three years ago (as did Lizzie and Emma). Then, Jeff's parents gave me a ride home, but on the way we stopped at Tung Kee Noodle House (now called TK Noodle) to buy... well... noodles.

When I came home, Kellie was at my place. (Her dad and grandpa had come to play Ma-jiang with my parents.) So I watch some Naruto with her and my bro.

Then, after dinner, which was... well... noodles, I watched the Cal VS Stanford game that I had taped. One word: FUMBLES! WTF?!? Cal fumbled the opening kick and Stanford capitalized and scored a field goal. I'm like "Oh, FUCK! I can't believe they just did that! Then, within the next 5 minutes, Cal makes another fumble and Stanford capitalizes and makes a touchown, and I'm like "Oh, FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!"

Then, until half time, the ball goes back and forth, but no one scores. Then, starting at the beginning of the third quarter (in the first 5 seconds, in fact) Cal scores a touchdown. Over the next two quarters, they proceed to score three more touchdowns, so that we're winning 28-10! Woot! At last second, Stanford makes another and fucks up a conversion, but we don't care, since we won 28-16! We're going to the post-season, and we keep the Axe! Fuck Stanfurd! Woot!

Then, I went online and chatted with people, including Jasmine, whom I hadn't seen in a really, really long time.

Kim went home this weekend, too, you know?

So that ends the events of today. I say to you, Good Night!
Friday, November 21, 2003--I got some sleep today because Friday is like my Saturday. Anyways, I forgot to mention a few things yesterday.

...unfortunately, I forgot most of it.

We have a fencer/dancer at the fencing club. Yesterday, while she was dancing, I noticed make-up on her face.
Me: Is that make-up on your face?
Christina: Yeah. I just came back from a dance concert, so it's not just make-up, it's stage make-up.
Some guy (it could have been Guy): Yeah, it's not just make-up. It's make-up!!!.

Anyways, today I woke up and was late to my EE20N Lab, which I still finished anyway because I could, but it was long!

On my way to lunch at the Crossroads, I stopped by at the Golden Bear to stock up on Nutri-Grain bars (or wasting away my meals, whichever one you prefer).

After working on the CS project, I went to CS61A Lecture where, to my dismay, I found at that the game board for the game of traveller can change, so I have to build my 'bot accordingly. Man, it's going to be hell.

Math 54 Discussion...

Coming back, I walked into a full elevator at my residence hall. (The building is called Cheney Hall, by the way.) As the elevator doors closed, I saw Kim coming through the Lobby, obviously wanting to go up, but no one was doing anything. (It was a crowded elevator, after all.) So I reach half-way across the elevator and hit the Door Open button for her, then held it down to keep the door open for her (or possibly to let her see me pressing the door open button for her). So then she came in, and we said hi, and she squeezed in right beside me. I enjoyed being so close to her...

Then, I rode the BART to Fremont. From Fremont, I rode Express Bus 180 to the San Jose Civic Center. From the San Jose Civic Center, I rode the light rail back to almaden, where my mom picked me up. Now I'm home.

Franklin is sick with something. I don't know what.

So I'm listening to Limp Bizkit again. I think their second CD was their best and first CD was their worst, and their third CD was good, and they only had 3 real CDs.

Anyways, it's getting dark. I've been online for quite a while now, and I really should go to bed...

Actually, it's not that late, but I'm tired. Good Riddance--I mean... Good Night!
Thursday, November 20, 2003--For once this week, I made it on time to my Physics 7B Lecture...

A Year Ago Today: The inception of the name "RustWyrm". It actually happened on November 19, 2002, but I didn't mention it until today.

After Physics Lecture, I went to get some breakfast at the Golden Bear...

Then, I forgot to turn in my EE20N Homework. I walked into the EE lecture at 12:40 and I was like "...shit!" Oh well, it's only 1.5 points I lost anyways.

Melody shows up right at the end of the lecture to pick up the lecture notes (even though they are available online... I guess she wanted a printed copy), so I walk with her to her next class and we chat along the way. About what, I do not remember, but it was good chatting with her again.

Greek Literature...

Dinner with Joyce...

CS61A Lab, in which I kicked ass!

I went to a discussion about the gender roles of guys and girls in society. It was a waste of my time. Damn them and their false advertising! I didn't even get to eat free food since I had to leave early to go...

Fencing... We learned bout tactics and the idea that we need to be in control of the bout. Provoke you're opponent and be ready for whatever they try to do. I mentioned that Mike Liu would be a good person to try this drill on, since he comes up with the craziest moves. Now respond to that!

The disengage is my best move, but it doesn't work against people who like to retreat, since when I disengage, they aren't there anymore for my blade to hit. However, today, I realized a way to get around that. All I have to do is force them to retreat to the very end of the fencing strip, and they won't be able to retreat any further. Thus, my disengage will most likely land (I've developed mad disengaging skills), and I'll get the point.

I still need to work on my defense, though. Against an aggressive fencer, I tend to lose.

After coming back from fencing, I had a nice long chat with Tiffany from across the hall and Steven and Irwin who are Kim's former schoolmates. Err... and they still are Kim's schoolmates.

Anyways, it's getting very late. Lucky thing my Thursdays are my Fridays, otherwise it'd be really bad. Anyways, Good Night!
Wednesday, November 19, 2003--Finally, I am able to wake up today, but I still ended up late to class anyway... hehehe...

A Year Ago Today: One of the most abstract journal entries I ever had

Physics 7B Lecture... we had a quiz, which I slaughtered! Mwahahahaha!!!

So I was doing some EE20N Homework... It ain't that hard.

Lunch at the Golden Bear...

CS61A Lecture... Hilfinger is now behind by one whole lecture... again!

Math 54 Discussion... there was a quiz, but it was so friggin' short and easy. It took like 5 minutes.

Anyways... I found the public transportation route between Berkeley and home! That means I can make it to Lizzie's concert! Woot! ...damn, I haven't seen Lizzie since Japan. I miss that girl... *sigh*

Anyways, after reading on the 7th floor lounge (and seeing Kim) and eating dinner with the guys at the Crossroads (and seeing Kim again), I... damn, I forgot my point already.

Oh, right, I finished my homework, went online, then went to bed.

Good Night!

Yes, I am speaking future talk...
Tuesday, November 18, 2003--Argh, I overslept again. I vaguely remember hearing the alarm, shutting it off, and going back to sleep for another hour... damn. Anyways...

A Year Ago Today: Ant infestation

Physics 7B Lecture, to which I show up late.

Lunchfast at the Golden Bear...

Math 54 Lecture... Prof Knutson isn't teaching us how to solve any differential equations...

EE20N Lecture... I was bored... If you're smart (like Nadia), you'll know why.

Greek Literature...

Dinner with Joyce... we met her friend from high school, Elaine, who had the same face as Connie. I was thinking "ARGH!!!"

CS61A Discussion... I tried to stay awake...

Apparently, UCLA (our UC brother in the NCAA)'s rival is USC, and they're playing them this Saturday. Heh, if we're lucky, we'll beat Stanford and they'll beat USC. I mean, if we can beat USC and UCLA can beat us, then UCLA can beat USC. Then again, if Stanford can beat UCLA and UCLA can beat us... maybe it's still up in the air, but I'm sure we'll beat Stanford anyway... We'll smash their heads open with The Axe!

Anyways, the Clock Tower was glowing blue tonight. It was pretty cool!

Short entry today because I'm lazy. Of course, I'll never forget to say Good Night!
Monday, November 17, 2003--Today, I overslept and so, I was 45 minutes late to...

Physics 7B Discussion...

Math homework was easy. Differential Equations is fun, but not the way Prof Knutson is teaching it.

Lunch at the Crossroads... Turkey sandwiches again! Yay!

EE20N Discussion...

CS61A Lecture...

Math 54 Discussion...

My monitor seems to be malfunctioning... the it keeps blinking purple. Purple... that means the green light is flickering.

Anyways, I decided to do an essay about Aristophanes' Assemblywomen. This is going to be fun!

Dinner at the Crossroads... I ran into Kim, who actually passed in front of me while my back was turned! Then right afterwards, I ran into Nadia, and I didn't expect her because I was looking for Kim instead. LOL, why is it that I keep running into people at the Crossroads?

A while afterwards, I went fencing, and my disengages are getting better! Anton was pleasantly surprised when I hit him with a few feint-disengages.

Anyways, after fencing, I came back home and did shit online until it got very late at night and I decided it would be best for me to go to bed.

So...

Good Night, my dear!
Sunday, November 16, 2003--I am feeling delirious right now. Hehehe!

A Year Ago Today: I spot Claire at Chinese School

Anyways, today, I woke up... obviously...

Anyways, I played some LOD, using the Assassin. She's fun to play, although it takes a little more skill than the Barbarian. I actually have to switch between skills and use comboes and shit like that, but otherwise, it's all good.

Then, after working oh Physics homework a little more, I headed back to Berkeley, where I arrived just in time for dinner at the Crossroads. After that, I did shit online. Hmm... I should probably go do some homework.

Heh, it's Luis' birthday today, and in attempts to cool down his soda faster, he turned down the refridgerator a couple of notches and ended up freezing two of the three water bottles within. LOL. I didn't know it could do that, although I suppose I should have known. After all, the freezer in my refridgerator once froze itself over so that it was encased in a solid block of ice. Hehe...

Anyways, I really gotta go now. See you later! Good Night!
Saturday, November 15, 2003--Damn, I didn't know that pressing ESC undos every single edit I make into my Journal entry, and now I gotta recreate this entire long entry from scratch. Fucking shit! Geocities should make some kind of warning so you don't accidentally undo all that work by accident.

A Year Ago Today: Here are the haiku reprinted for your viewing pleasure:

"Here is my naughty haiku
I like elf girls because they are cute
I want to do naughty things"

"Crack is good for you
Cocaine is not as good, yo
Smoke it in rock-form!!!"

"Dwayne has lots of enemies
The fags refuse to reveal themselves
'Kill all of them,' says Alan"

Anyways, upon waking up today, I decided to watch TV, namely X-Men Evolution. They're showing re-runs of the Apocalypse saga. Apocalypse is cool, but Magneto is cooler, even if he is weaker. Mr. Sinister (who has yet to show up in the series) just plain sucks. And why the fuck are Gambit and Colossus evil in Evolution?

Afterwards, I had lunch, after which I went to the dentist appointment.

Upon arriving home, I did my physics homework and was glad to discover that my computer-generated answer was actually correct. Yay!

Then, Franklin called and ordered some pizza from Domino's for dinner. He clearly told them we'd go and pick it up ourselves, but for some reason, they sent a guy to deliver it to us, even though nobody was home. WTF? Well, at least we now know that we're within Domino's delivery range. Heh, and I always thought we were out of range.

On our way, we got the Diablo II Battle Chest, which includes Diablo, Diablo II, Lord of a Destruction, and a (now obselete) Diablo II Strategy Guide, which is still good despite being out of date. (It was made for version 1.07, as opposed to the 1.10 we use now, but the quest information and shit is still good.)

Anyways, after dinner, I watched Franklin play some LOD. Then, I went online and did that amusing shit. Now, I should stop doing the amusing shit and go to bed because it's getting late. Good Night, Elf!
Friday, November 14, 2003--Today, I woke up later than usual... because my Friday start at 9am instead of 8am.

EE20N Lab... Today's lab was surprisingly short.

Lunch at the Crossroads...

You know how they were giving out goldfish on Tuesday? Well, apparently, Tiffany took her goldfish and put it in a martini glass (and named it Martie) and it died the day after, and its funeral was today, but I missed it because I was at Lab. Oh, well.

CS61A Lecture... I walked through the rain to get there, because I like the rain. So when I arrive, I'm thoroughly soaked.

Me: An hour ago, I walked through the rain and got soaked. Now, I regret it because now I'm cold.
Tracy: Yeah, I don't have an umbrella!

Lucky for her, it had stopped raining.

Math 54 Discussion... The class was so small today it didn't matter whether we discussed as a class or split up into small groups. It turned out to be a question of "one group or two", so we decided to tackle the worksheet as a class.

Anyways, I played lots of FFTactics today.

*T*I made it all the way to the bottom of the Deep Dungeon, where I fought Elidibs. I managed to learn Zodiac from him (MP Switch saved my life), but I had to quit before I could finish off Elidibs and quit. This battle is the last battle in the whole game I have yet to beat...

Why are there two Ragnaroks, two Excaliburs, and two Save the Queens in the game?
*T*

Anyways, I went home for the weekend, so my brother started playing Diablo II, because I brought it home for the weekend. Tomorrow, I have a dentist appointment, because that's the way my mom scheduled it. Anyways, Good Night! It's getting late. I'll talk to you again tomorrow.
Thursday, November 13, 2003--"It's Thursday the 13th today."--Winnie

You know those people who like to spam my guestbook and ballot-stuff my minipoll? Yeah, those people. Whatever happened to them? They were really amusing, with all that messed up shit they kept saying. You know what was even more amusing? When Alan and I rip on them and make them look even more moronic than they really are... if that's even possible. Yeah, we need those people to come back so we can make fun of them again. That alone would increase the amusement of this website by 43.6%. So where the fuck are you?!?

I suppose, though, that they're probably tired of being the butt of our jokes all the time. That and they're too chicken to face me face to face. Oh, well. There are other ways for me to amuse myself. Too bad, though, that now I'll have to actually make an effort to amuse my audience, since our resident jokers (namely "God", and how many of them he claims there are) have fled.

Here's a classic "God" quote: "No! Mommy said I was a good little girl."

A Year Ago Today: Vivian Chu makes her first appearance in my Journal.

Anyways, today, I wake up early enough again to hear the clock tower play music just before 8am. Then, I went to my Physics 7B Lecture...

Lunchfast at the Golden Bear... apparently, Winnie had gone to the Golden Bear with David and then was ditched when she turned around to talk to her friend... Actually, I don't know the full story, but I think that's what she said.

Math 54 Lecture... finally, we start Differential Equations!

EE20N Lecture... I just couldn't keep myself focused on the material today. Maybe it's because she didn't pass out handouts, so I didn't have anything for my mind to follow.

Greek Literature...

Dinner at the Crossroads...

CS61A Lab...

After working on Dark Fiends some, I went fencing. I'm improving!

Anyways, it's time to end tonight, because there's not much more to say. So... uhh... Good Night!
Wednesday, November 12, 2003--*yawned* ... is an anagram of Dwayne.

A Year Ago Today: Physics 7B Lab...

Lunch at the Crossroads...

On my way back from lunch, I saw ran into Kim in the lobby. Why is it that every time I see her, I walk away even more depressed. I mean, one would have thought that I'd enjoy seeing her.

Alan: I order you to enjoy seeing Kim.

CS61A Lecture...

Math Discussion...

So in next week's Physics Homework, there is this evil evil evil problem that I couldn't do legit, so I'm going to do it by numerical approximation... using a computer program to do it for me, mwahahahaha!!! It's all legal, since I'm writing the program myself, and since I already spent 2-3 hours trying (and failing) to do it legit.

Dinner with Mark, Ryan, and Louisa, and I saw and waved to Kim, who waved back.

After dinner, I decided to do shit online, then I'll say to you all Good Night!

*yawned*
Tuesday, November 11, 2003--Veteran's Day

Today's a national holiday, so we don't need to go to class... Heh, I used almost the same quote last year on Veteran's Day.

On a partially related note, my dad is a veteran... of the Taiwanese Navy. I think he was an engineer for one of the battleships or something. He didn't fight any major battles, though.

Anyways, I played lots of FFTactics all throughout the day. Mostly it was going through the Deep Dungeon and collecting treasures. I've gotten to the 8th level of the Deep Dungeon, 8th out of 10.

Also, while I was wandering around, I walked into the 7th-Floor Lounge, and I heard someone say "Hi" so I turned around and saw Kim... so she still talks to me... how... amusing... (:

After brunch (at the Crossroads, which I ate with Mark and Ryan), I went to go look at this "Hall Ass Bash" thingie. It sucked! Although, I did "win" a goldfish with Abhi's "encouragement", but I didn't want the fish, so I gave it to Lily. The date auction sucked. No cute girls!

Again, I had a dinner at the Crossroads and met up with Mark and Ryan, and Ryan kept seeing someone/something, but I didn't see anything, and Ryan wouldn't tell me what it was.

I also fenced with Guy, Janet, Matt, Ron, and Coach Lee at McCone today for the special fencing sessiom. It was fun. We tried out the Rapier and Dagger, which is not an official weapon.

Heh, I almost forgot... Yesterday at EE Discussion,
Me: I'm not going to class tomorrow.
Melo (confused): You're not?!?
Me: Nobody is. There is no class. It's Veteran's Day tomorrow.
Melo: Oh, right, right.

Anyways, it's getting late. My roommate Luis is already asleep. I'd better get to sleep to. Okay... Good Night!
Monday, November 10, 2003--I actually woke up early enough to enjoy the sound of the Clock Tower playing music. Yay!

Physics 7B Discussion... We got our mudterms back today, and I did exceptionally well... although others in Smoot's section did better.

So anyways, I am now incredibly ahead on my homework, thanks to the stop in homework during mudterm week. Cool! I like being ahead on my homework. That means I can slack off with a more relaxed conscience. "My homework needs to catch up with me."

Lunch at the Crossroads...

EE20N Discussion...

CS61A Lecture... Tracy's friend (I don't know her name) was playing Mario on her friends' laptop... Tracy kept looking in my direction, although I am 99.872% sure she wasn't looking at me.

Math 54 Discussion... not much, actually.

Dinner at the Crossroads... I saw Kim there, but didn't get a chance to say hi... I probably shouldn't be saying hi to her anyway... Kim...

Afterwards, I played lots of FFTactics. Today, I stepped foot into the Deep Dungeon and started getting treasures and stuff.

Then, I went fencing, and after teaching a newbie the basics of foil fencing, I tried out Saber, and it's actually amazingly fun!

Anyways, it's getting late and I need to get some sleep now... actually, I don't because tomorrow's a day off, but I should get some sleep anyway.

Good Night!
Sunday, November 9, 2003--The Santa Clara Math Contest was yesterday for the old Math Team, but also...

A Year Ago Today: Anyways, Lei was saying how she was personally doing better on the Santa Clara contest, but the team as a whole was doing worse. I guess that's what happens when you minus Linda and me, as well as other graduated seniors who had good enough English to understand the problem.

Today, I woke up and watched the rest of the Animatrix. Why are there lotsa girls in their underwear?

Then, I played cards with Frankie.

After making a series of trades and transfers with Justin over B.Net for Diablo II, I went to dinner at Fresh Choice with my family. Fresh Choice has good food, but the ice cream cones are so frickin' small!

Then, I drove all the way back to Berkeley (my mom had to come with me so she could take back the car, though).

So anyways, I'm back at Berkeley now. Now, I shall wish you all a Good Night, for it is a Good Night!
Saturday, November 8, 2003--I woke up in my own home today. It was good to be back!

Then, I played the piano for like an hour and barely showered and got dressed in time to get to lunch.

After lunch, I drove to Circuit City, then to Best Buys, where we bought the Animatrix. It was good to drive again! I love driving!

Afterwards, I saw Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, which was good. Now, I can finally face Joyce with confidence again.

Then, I watched 3 parts of the Animatrix. "Final Flight of the Osiris" was pretty good, but "Kid's Story" and "World Record" kinda sucked.

After dinner, I claimed my Frostburns from Justin and made claims to claim the Patriarch and an Ornate Plate. Soon, my friend... soon...

Anyways, it's getting late.

Good Night! Don't let the succubi bite!
Friday, November 7, 2003--EE20N Lab...

After lunch, I signed up for classes. It was really quick.

CS61A Lecture... Hilfinger started talking about Cryptography and I fell asleep, and so did Sue, who sat next to me. (Speaking of Sue, I think it was last Sunday that I had dinner with her... she was at the Crossroads and she came and sat with me, Mark, and Ryan and ate.)

Math 54 Discussion, where I found out that the average on the test was pretty low and that I had actually gotten a pretty good A... better than last time, at least. It's kind of interesting... The distribution of test scores was really wierd. Instead of a bell curve, there were two bell curves with averages at a low C/high D and at A, so there were lots of A's, C's, and D's, but barely any B's... amusing...

Afterwards, I played a lot of FFTactics. My characters are pretty strong. I entered Deep Dungeon today to go on a treasure hunt!

Afterwards, mom picked me up and we went home. Good Night!
Thursday, November 6, 2003--I've become very lazy at updating my website...

A Year Ago Today: 100 "DAMNIT!!!"s. They were for Emma.

Physics 7B Lecture...

Lunchfast at the Golden Bear...

Math 54... Mudterm today. I thought I did pretty bad. Later, though, in EE20N (sitting next to Melo, of course!) I did some calculations and realized that I actually did pretty decently!

Later, online, I used glookup and found out I got a perfect score on the CS mudterm. I didn't know that was even possible! I thought that the better you do, the harder they grade so it's nearly impossible to get a perfect score. I couldn't believe I got a perfect score and decided it was a mistake until I saw it on paper.

Assemblywomen is a hella funny play, especially the Jeffrey Henderson translation. I recommend it to anyone who likes crude humor.

Greek Literature...

I had to leave early for the EE mudterm. It's interesting... they say that EE was hard, but I actually found this mudterm pretty straightforward... except the last question, which is just horrid (kinda like the first mudterm, hehehe), but I think I did well. In fact, I was so confident that I finished in 1.5 hours (and 2 hours is the expected time). Luckily, I didn't laugh this time.

CS61A Lab, which I just barely made it on time. The Berkeley Adventure game is fun to play with, and I found out that I really did get a perfect score on the CS mudterm. ... Well, I suppose that's a good thing, but now all the not-so-smart people will be getting jealous. Ah, at least the class isn't curved, or else people will really have a problem with me.

After a late dinner, I went fencing, during which I demonstrated disengage skills. Apparently, while helping Coach Lee demonstrate how to defend against a disengage, I naturally disengaged the other way when she wanted me to demonstrate a disengage that would fail. Whoops! "Dwayne, stop disengaging the other way. I'm trying to demonstrate an anti-disengage technique here."

Shortly afterwards, I created my schedule and went to bed. Good Night!
Wednesday, November 5, 2003--I was playing Assassins today, and my target was none other than Mike the fencer... Mwahahahahaha!!!

A Year Ago Today: I did some poll working at the voting place for my Government class. I think it was the Bill Simon VS Gray Davis election...

Physics 7B Lab... We got to use a magnetic field to bend an electron beam today, but our machine sucked because the beam wouldn't show up, so we had to hijack someone else's machine.

Long break, during which I hung out with Lily on the 4th Floor, camping out to take out our targets. Ironically, it was Lily who got me assassinated in the first game of assassins.

Then, on my way down to lunch, I caught Mike waiting for the elevator. I was like, "Hey, Mike!" and I slapped him in the back the way friends do.
Me: Are you playing Assassins?
Mike: Why?
Me: Because I just assassinated you. *shows Mike sock, shows Mike the slip with his name on it*
Mike: What? Oh, my god, that's so dumb!

Heh, I've already improved in the assassination.

Apparenly, my new target was Adam on my floor, except I didn't know who he was since he lived all the way on the other end of the floor. Apparently, after lunch, we were in the hall together and, since I didn't kill him, he thought I wasn't his killer. (Thanks to Luis' trickery, I got him later that night. Nice job, Luis! However, on my way to his room so I could retrieve the slip with his target, Tiffany who lives with Meena, intercepted me at her room. For some reason, it didn't occur to me to run. All I did was slowly step back and she threw the sock at me and hit me. Darn... I really should work on my sock evasion skills... Oh, well... two kills... at least I improved!)

CS61A Lecture, which I was late to because I was helping Abhi study for EE20N. It seems I have taught him how to use ABCD representation of a state machine.

Math 54 Discussion...

After that was more hanging out outside until 5pm, at which I went to the movie theater and watched The Matrix Revolutions! Hell yeah! Matrix Revolutions was a good movie. Most of the people who said it was bad are the same people who didn't like Matrix Reloaded. I don't know why. I thought Matrix Reloaded was pretty good. It had a much better storyline. Plus, Matrix Revolutions starts out a lot faster than Matrix Reloaded. Did you notice how freakin' long it took for Matrix Reloaded to get started? I was waiting the first thirty minutes for something to happen. Matrix Revolution, on the other hand, jumps right into the action.

Anyways, after getting back, that's when I assassinated Adam and was assassinated by Tiffany due to my lack of intelligence in not running away! WTF?

Then, I did stuff online and realized at about 11:30pm that I never had dinner today, and the thing is, I never even noticed! WTF?

Anyways, enough "WTF?"s for the day. What I really need is a good old "Good Night!"
Tueday, November 4, 2003--Physics 7B Lecture...

Lunchfast at the Golden Bear...

Math 54 Lecture... during which I finished the Math 54 Review sheet.

EE20N Lecture... during which I sat with Melody, and she was studying for the mudterm. Lucky for me, I don't have to take the mudterm today, because I have a conflict with Physics 7B, so I get to take the EE20N mudterm on Thursday.

Afterwards, I started my EE20N Review for lack of anything better (productive) to do.

Greek Literature... Plato's Phaedrus is really good stuff! I like philosophy. I just don't like having to study philosophy for a grade. Same with art. (No, art is not limited to just pictures and shit.)

Dinner with Joyce... I had to eat fast since I had a Physics 7B mudterm at 6.

Physics 7B mudterm... it was easier than the first mudterm, and I slaughtered the first Physics 7B mudterm. Mwahahahaha! Besides, I don't even need to do well on this midterm to do well in the class.

Afterwards, I came back and did some shit. Then at 9:30, I went to listen to the sex talk with the fencers, which sucked! Mark's e-mail was misleading advertising! (Mark as in the officer of the Fencing Club, not Mark the Canadian.) Luckily, it didn't cost me any money.

After coming back, I did stuff online and posted something philosophical in response to Linda's xanga. All in all, it was a good and enjoyable day.

Except it appears Kim has gotten mad at me for IMing her too much... )=

Anyways, that's about it! Good Night!
Monday, November 3, 2003--I actually got plenty of sleep last night! Sleep is good!

A Year Ago Today: "There is a true and sincere friendship between you both." (In my mind, the fortune cookie referred to Emma H, who had been censored from my journal on November 1 as a result of certain events. In all truth, her true first appearance in my journal was on Monday, September 30, 2003, as M, and as the "cute, white, left-handed violinist girl".)

Physics 7B Discussion...

Lunch at the Crossroads...

EE20N Discussion... Today, I told Melody that if I fell asleep, she should poke me. Then, I fell asleep, and she poked me, and I woke up. I thought it was rather amusing.

CS61A Lecture... According to the notes, they made a Berkeley adventure game in Scheme. Interesting...

Math 54 Discussion...

Finishing my CS61A Homework... Object Oriented Programming is fun, even if it does spell OOP.

Dinner at the Crossroads...

Afterwards, I made one final check on my CS61A homework and sent it in (early, this time), then proceeded to experiment with the Berkeley game... too simplistic... I'd improve it, but I have better things to improve... for now...

Then, I went to the CS61A Mudterm #2... it was slaughter... that is to say, I slaughtered the mudterm! I slew it! It's now dead! Whee! Haha!

Anyways, I'm back in my dorm now, updating my website. Now, it's getting late, so I'll use my infamous "Good Night!"
Sunday, November 2, 2003 - Addendum--So I'm talking to Sarah over AIM:
Me: hi sarah
Me: how are you?
Me: and how will you be?
Her: i am dirty
Her: and i will be clean
Her: then i will be in church
Her: bbl
Me: ah, so you're taking a shower
Me: have fun!

Alan: did hearing that she would be naked and wet arouse u?

Alan also had a response to the Kim incident.
Me: if there was an attractive girl sleeping in her math book in the lounge, what would you do?
Alan: RAPEY RAPEY!
Me: i thought you'd say that
Me: but i don't think kim would enjoy that
Alan: i would subtract her clothes, divide her legs and multiply

So, if you were stuck in hell with demons coming after you (and since you're in hell, there are demons everywhere), and it's been a long time and you're getting sleepy, what would you do?
Ryan: Go to sleep.
Me: What? But the demons would get you!
Ryan: so?
Me: Mark, what would you do?
Mark: I'd call for Inu Yasha.
Me: What? Are you Kagome, then?

(Over AIM)
Alan: jack off repeatedly--nothin like a good masturbation session to keep a man awake eh?
Me: masturbate on the run?
Me: or would you stay in one spot and masturbate in comfort

Sarah: sleep
Sarah: and be killed
Me: okay
Sarah: hmm
Sarah: if it were really happening
Sarah: id keep running
Me: but you're so damn sleepy
Sarah: bc after awhile that feels like sleep
Me: oh
Me: i woulda figured you'd pray to god to send down an angel to rescue you

What would you do?

So there are 5 guys standing outside a yogurt parlor talking about cars. The first guy says, "Once, I locked my keys inside the car, and it took a professional locksmith 30 minutes to get the door open." The second guy says, "I can get into my car by removing the battery from the engine and crawling in through the hole." The third guy says, "I can get into my car with a screwdriver and just 5 minutes." The fourth guy says, "I can get into my car with a bloody fist and a lot of pain." Then the last guy says, "I can get into my car with a key!"

True story. That's what me and the fencers were talking about in front of the yogurt parlor Thursday night.

And finally, Good Night!
Sunday, November 2, 2003--After lunchfast at the Crossroads, I updated my journal. Now, I'm right on schedule.

Anyways, I suddenly grew sleepy, so at about 2:15pm, I took a half an hour nap. When I woke up at 2:40pm, I went up to the 7th floor lounge for some fresh air, to try to make me awake again, and I saw none other than Kim sleeping in her math book (I later find out that it's a chem book), and I'm thinking "What should I do?" Asking Alex over AIM, he said I should wake her up (gently) "for her own good", but Mark and Nadia said I should let her sleep. In the end, it didn't matter because Kim was already awake when I returned to the 7th Floor lounge 15 minutes later with my physics homework. (Yes, I resolved that today, I'd do homework, and I actually stuck to that plan.)

Then, after an hour, I left and came back with math homework, but I heard Vincy playing the violin (I knew right away it had to be Vincy) so I visited her. Why does everyone always say that they suck when they're actually pretty good? As for me, I really do suck. No, seriously, I do suck. At least, I suck more than Vincy claims to be...

Then, I did my math homework in the 7th floor lounge for the next hour and a half. Today, I saw more of Kim than I had ever seen in all the rest of my Berkeley experiences combined. It's true. She's an... interesting girl...

Anyways, after dinner, I watched the new Simpsons Treehouse of Horror. It was mildly amusing. Then, I went and did the laundry while screwing around online.

At this point I will say "Good Night", even if the night isn't over yet. (And I never care if the night is bad, because it isn't.)
Saturday, November 1, 2003--Franklin had told me to update his Diablo II characters every month, so I did. Boy, do his characters suck. He has, like, 1 point in every skill, and he focuses in none of them. It's like the red mage style--he's a jack of all trades, but the master of none. He can do everything, but nothing well. He's equally good at everything--where equally good means equally crappy.

Anyways, I was trying to kill four zombies in the Blood Moor with his sorc in Hell difficulty. It was nearly impossible since the only spell he had that had more than one point in it was Frozen Orb, but the zombies were immune to cold, so I had to use a level 1 Hydra and level 1 Chain Lighting to beat the four zombies, and it took forever. I like Melee fighters over spellcasters. Always have.

Also, I started developing his level 1 barb mule into a spear barb.

I also played Diablo II a lot. Throughout playing the whole day, I got from level 34 all the way to level 40. I also beat Andariel in Nightmare difficulty all by myself. Perhaps I played too much, because I had resolved to get some homework done today, but I didn't do any. Damn...

Speaking of Nightmare, I think I've figured out why Nightmare is often represented as a black horse. You see, Night means, well, darkness and a mare is a female horse. So Nightmare is a dark female horse, so Nightmare is a black horse, see?

I actually thought of that when I was thinking along these lines: "Nightmare... what if it's during the day, would it be a Daymare? So what's a Mare, then? Wait a minute... a mare is a female horse! That's why Nightmare is represented as a black horse!"

Amusing...

Also at brunch, I see Kim enter the cafeteria, so I told Ryan that she would probably walk the other way instead of come toward us, and she did walk the other way. Darn... Oh, well.

I don't feel like elaborating on the rest of today's events because it's all killing shit on Diablo II. That and I'm getting tired. If I remember anything important, I'll make an addendum. Anyways, Good Night!
